Project Overview
Avantor, a leading global enterprise in the hard-tech sector, has established its 5,000-square-meter headquarters in Shanghai. Selected as the primary furniture partner, UFOU was entrusted with delivering a comprehensive furniture solution that meets the operational demands of a cutting-edge technology workplace.
Our responsibility extended beyond functional performance—ensuring each furniture element aligns with Avantor’s corporate culture, strengthens the aesthetic identity of the headquarters, and supports a productive, future-ready work environment.

Interior Vision
The headquarters’ interior adopts a light-filled architectural language: floor-to-ceiling windows, minimalist glass partitions, and a soft neutral palette—expressed through textured carpeting and linear lighting—create a balance between openness and focused workability. For Avantor’s technical teams, the environment needed to accommodate both long hours of concentrated desk work and quick, high-efficiency collaborative huddles. This required furniture that complements the modern aesthetic while supporting dual work modes.

UFOU responded with furniture defined by understated geometry, intentional acoustic considerations, and ergonomic performance. Each piece integrates seamlessly into the airy spatial layout, while modular screens and supportive seating systems are tailored to the hard-tech team‘s focused and collaborative workflows.

UFOU Furniture Integration
Meeting Rooms
- Caster-equipped meeting chairs and modular long tables provide agile reconfiguration, allowing teams to adjust seating layouts with ease. The vibrant green upholstery echoes the geometric green-and-grey wall panels, reinforcing a cohesive visual identity across the space.
- Upholstered seating elements further enhance acoustic performance, creating an environment suited for focused discussions and hybrid collaboration.

Transparent Work Pods
- Lightweight, caster-equipped chairs paired with elongated work tables preserve the openness of the high-rise city backdrop. Their clean profiles complement the transparency and verticality of the pod architecture.
- Modular seating configurations reinforce intuitive circulation patterns, ensuring the transparent pod design remains both visually light and functionally efficient.

Lounge & Social Areas
- Light-toned lounge seating and minimalist light worktables harmonize with the transparent pod architecture and high-rise backdrop, fostering a fresh, calming atmosphere within the workspace. The palette reinforces spatial openness while softening the technical edge of the hard-tech environment.
- Lightweight, easily repositioned chairs support spontaneous breaks and informal conversations, allowing tech teams to reset quickly before transitioning seamlessly back into focused work.
